Who’s Who at Putia Cooking School? Introducing Chef Guru
Chef Dominique Rizzo is sharing her love of teaching cooking by introducing her hand-picked selection of Queensland chefs who share her values and integrity for pure food, quality food.
So let’s meet one of these chefs – one of our guest facilitators at Putia Cooking School, Chef Gurudeep Sethi.
Chef Gurudeep has 18 years of experience working in five-star hotels, fine dining restaurants, Bistros and corporate catering.
Gurudeep began his career at the Five Star Hotel Sheraton in New Delhi. Gurudeep then moved on to Dubai and worked in a pre opening team of 7-star hotel Burj-Al-Arab and spent his commis chef experience under Michelin star chefs and hone his skills at fine dining restaurant Al-Muntaha.
Making the move to New Zealand, Gurudeep gained a greater exposure and love for cooking at Sky City Hotel. Gurudeep then moved on to work in Auckland’s award winning restaurants Kermadec and Soul Bar and Bistro in a capacity of sous chef to explore his knowledge and skills and trained numerous apprentices during those years.
With a great appetite for learning, Gurudeep moved to Queensland and got abundant exposure to cook for delegates at Australian Open, worked as a head chef for Australia’s biggest law firms like Clayton Utz and Corrs Chambers. After having 2 decades of cooking experience Gurudeep specialises in French, Asian, Middle Eastern and modern Australian cuisine.
Gurudeep is very passionate about bringing his years of experience in teaching and training young generation.
